Every year, on the third Monday in February our nation pauses to celebrate and remember great presidents throughout history!  There are so many fun activities available to parents online to help teach the importance of this national holiday.  I came across this fantastic website the other day that offers a variety of crafts for kids that could easily become a springboard to interesting historical lessons for your whole family to enjoy and learn from!  Take a moment to remind your family what Presidents’ Day is all about, and how they might honor their president today!  At this family friendly website, you’ll also find interesting facts and related links about our presidents, the election process, patriotic movies and other political trivia.  Kids, enjoy your day off!  And parents, enjoy sharing a bit of our country’s history with your family!

An Ordinary Day

Being the homebody that I am, I absolutely love and cherish those quiet, uneventful (and sometimes boring) days at home with my girls!  I suppose that’s why this video instantly brought me to tears.  As much as I enjoy a fancy night out with my family or a memorable vacation, it’s the day to day activities that make me smile when remembered.  Sadly, it’s also those daily responsibilites that sometimes get in the way of the true joy of staying at home with my girls.  I’m so thankful I came across this video today!  What a great reminder to savor every second with our kiddos.  They grow up so fast.  I don’t want to miss a thing…
